Our Story
The origin of our company is in the processing of Wazarashi using the pure waters of Izumi (now Osaka Prefecture). Wazarashi made in Izumi is referred to as “Izumi Wazarashi.” There were once over 200 manufacturers, but now the number has dwindled to less than ten. Amidst the significant decline of the bleaching industry, our company has developed the “Sasasa Wazarashi Roll” with the aim of preserving traditional techniques for future generations and revitalizing the industry.
Our factory has adopted new technologies suitable for modern times, processing with “less chemicals,” “less water,” and “less energy” compared to traditional methods. The Wazarashi produced with this new processing technology, dubbed “ECO Wazarashi,” has received high praise for its minimal chemical impact, making it safe and gentle for babies and those with sensitive skin. In addition to the “Sasasa” brand, our company manufactures and processes Izumi Wazarashi for various applications, including Japanese hand towels, bleached fabric, belly bands for safe childbirth, gauze sleepwear, yukata, stencil-dyeing Wazarashi, and print-dyeing Wazarashi.
